Bharat Sundaresan has unveiled a monster signing for Team India. The newly appointed manager has secured the services of Satnam Singh, the 7-foot-4 giant and current All Elite Wrestling (AEW) star, for the upcoming The Wrestling Series: India vs. Australia event in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia.
Singh, who made history as the first Indian-born player drafted into the NBA before transitioning to professional wrestling, brings an imposing physical presence to Team India for the December showdown in Ballarat. His recent success in the ring, including winning the prestigious AAA World Tag Team Titles, adds championship pedigree to his already impressive stature.
Singh's journey from a small village in Punjab to international stardom was chronicled in the 2016 Netflix documentary "One In A Billion." The film showcases Singh's remarkable rise from humble beginnings to becoming a trailblazer in professional sports, highlighting the challenges he faced and overcame.
This signing marks a significant coup for Sundaresan, a respected sports journalist turned wrestling manager, who has been tasked with assembling a formidable roster to face off against the Australians.
"Satnam Singh is the true Indian Giant, currently under the tutelage of world-renowned stars such as Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal, as well as his fellow countryman Sonjay Dutt," Sundaresan explained.
"His unique size, rapidly developing skills, and now his championship experience make him a formidable force in professional wrestling. With Satnam on our side, Team India gains not just a wrestler, but a true phenomenon who will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on our Australian opponents."
While Singh's signing and recent championship victory have created a buzz, Sundaresan's roster-building efforts continue. Notably, his previously announced intention to sign Mustafa Ali, the newly crowned OPW Heavyweight Champion, remains a topic of intense speculation.
As the December event approaches, all eyes are on Team India and Sundaresan's next moves. With Singh's towering presence and secured, and the potential addition of Ali still in play, The Wrestling Series is shaping up to be an unmissable spectacle of the summer.
